Abstract : The Air Force Space and Missile Systems Organization (SAMSO) sponsored a flight and ground experiments program at Holloman Air Force Base/White Sands Missile Range (HAFB/WSMR) to demonstrate the performance of two developmental four-channel Pseudo Random Noise (PRN) navigation receivers in typical flight and field environments preparatory to undertaking the Defense Navigation Satellite Development Program (DNSDP). The flight test program included area navigation demonstrations and a simulated instrument landing system terminal approach and landing demonstration. Evaluation of the receiver performance is by comparison of the trajectory derived from PRN receiver data against an independent best estimate of trajectory (BET) derived from metric sensor data collected by WSMR and from an inertial measuring unit mounted in the aircraft. This report has three volumes; this volume presents the procedures for processing the airborne receiver(s) data to obtain the navigation trajectories. Both explicit (i.e., point-by-point) and filter solutions are presented as differences between the navigation trajectory and the BET. (Author)
