Abstract : The natural vertebrate hosts of pathogenic arboviruses that infect man in Ethiopia are identified. The methods of study are (1) collection and identification of vertebrate animals species areas where the viruses are endemic, (2) determination of the immunological status of the material, and (3) elucidation of the relative ecological and epidemiological importance of the infected vertebrates. Five study areas have been established representing a diverse cross-section of habitats and geographic regions.
