Abstract : This report is responsive to that portion of the Memorandum for WSEG from the Deputy Director (Test and Evaluation) which requested a test design for an operational test of the A-6 and F-111 Tactical Radar Bombing Systems. The purpose of the tests is to provide a systematic base of data on accuracies of radar bombing systems under simulated combat conditions. These data could then be used for evaluating the operational effectiveness of these systems. The paper presents a test design for operational tests in which the A-6 and F-111 aircraft and crews will be used in conjunction with a bomb scoring system (WSEG Report 211) to measure radar bombing accuracy. Simulated bombing runs will be made at targets with varying characteristics of topography and radar return. Such variables as delivery tactics and aircrew briefing materials will be controlled.
