Abstract : Four and ten person groups of males and females were placed into 70, 40 or 16 square foot rooms. Working either as a group (interacting) or individually (co-acting), they were asked to perform a perceptual task and a problem solving task. The results indicate that there is no difference in problem solving from dense to less dense areas. However, there appear to be mood and attitude differences from dense to less dense conditions, and a sex difference.
