Abstract : Computer interactive graphics provides a method of presenting the output of computer program calculations or data manipulation in graphical instead of tabular form, and allows the program user to modify the parameters of the problem under investigation dynamically. The Control Data Corporation Digigraphics 274 Display Console and 274 Interactive Graphics System software package are typical of computer interactive graphics facilities found on modern computer systems. To demonstrate the feasibility of using computer interactive graphics for education and research, a multiple regression analysis program was converted from a 'batch' mode to interactive graphics use. The program developed during the research, Graphics Interactive Regress (GIR), allows the console operator to vary almost every parameter of the regression interactively, and to examine the results of each dynamically.
