Abstract : This study is intended as a broad framework within which the Corps of Engineers might conduct detailed studies at the project level of hydropower potential at Corps projects and on streams susceptible of development by the Corps. It assembles and analyzes data on U. S. undeveloped hydropower potential; fossil fuel and other energy resources and consumption, costs of electricity generation; Federal hydropower policy, organization, and marketing; Federal project evaluation; economic and environmental considerations; and potential fossil fuel conservation.
