Abstract : AF-AFOSR Grant 70-1957 was concerned with the prediction of stress, deformation, and failure modes in advanced composite materials subject to severe dynamic environmental conditions resulting from mechanical, thermal, and radiative sources. This report summarizes the results of a five-year theoretical/experimental study of wave propagation and failure mechanism in composite materials.
