Abstract : The equation of motion of the center of mass coordinates for an electron beam in the high current betatron is investigated. For a small betatron field, it is shown that even for a stable single particle orbit of beam electrons, the grad-B drift velocity of the center of mass coordinates can be fractional percents of the speed of light, thereby presenting a serious difficulty in future experiments.
