Abstract : An investigation was conducted to determine the effect on corrosion properties of mixing silicone and conventional polyglycol brake fluid. More than 100 corrosion tests were conducted in accordance with procedures listed in the brake fluid specifications. It was concluded that there is some migration of corrosion inhibitors between fluids, but excessive corrosion would not result from mixing the two fluids. (Author)
