Abstract : This report describes and evaluates a new way to combine pseudonoise (PN) spread spectrum and adaptive (antenna) arrays, consisting of multiple matched filters followed by sample matrix inversion (SMI) array processing. The evaluation of this technique was done by using a 4element linear array and: (1) straightforward matrix calculations; (2) a computer computation of output signaltonoise ratio; SNRO, versus angle when the theoretically correct noise covariance matrix was used; and (3) a computer simulation/demonstration that estimated the noise covariance matrix from computergenerated interference samples.
