Abstract : The aircraft simulation model developed under previous contract (N00019-77-0299) is extended in an attempt to study the pattern effects due to the presence of various substructures attached to an aircraft. A simple, efficient multiplate model is developed in that the various substructures, such as the jet engine housing, are treated simply by boxing-out the shape using multiple finite plates. This new numerical solution with second-order interaction GTD terms included shows excellent agreement when compared with the measured results. (Author)
