Abstract : The new 35-GHz patrol radiometer at Sagamore Hill Solar Radio Observatory is described. The improved sensitivity of this system permits the detection of solar bursts down to about a 5-10 sfu level vs 50-100 sfu for the old system. This enhanced sensitivity will aid in the investigation of a wide range of topics pertaining to the physics of solar flares. These include but are not limited to spectral studies of large flare-bursts, correlations with hard x-ray data, and the detection of short cm-wavelength sharp-cutoff bursts. (Author)
