Abstract : Effects of temperature and orientation of an intact rabbit lens on the polarized Raman spectra are discussed. Regardless of rabbit lens orientation with respect to incident/scattered exciting laser beams, the resultant polarized Raman spectra are essentially identical. The results indicate that the lens is optically isotropic. Temperature at 100 C seems to have no effect on protein conformation within the lens. (Author)
