Abstract : Experimental and theoretical research on argon, xenon and air dense nonideal plasmas is reported. The study is focussed on the factors controlling specific energy, electrical conductivity and flow variables of a plasma pulse from an energetic explosively driven plasma source. Measurements and analyses of the plasma pulse passing through a magnetic field are reported. An average electrical power density output of 2.4 TW/m3-T2 was measured for a 2.5 MJ plasma pulse.
