Abstract : Following the floods of 1965, 1966, and 1969, the Middle River-Snake River Watershed District requested the Corps of Engineers to study flood problems along the Snake River from its mouth upstream to Warren, Minnesota. The basic objective of this study is to identify and develop a flood damage reduction plan that is engineeringly and economically feasible and socially and environmentally acceptable. Land use, fish and wildlife conservation, water quality control, recreation, and environmental and social considerations were studied in cooperation with other federal and state agencies. (Author)
