Abstract : This essay traces the legislative course for several bills relating to the need for the protection of the identity of covert human intelligence sources for the US government. While the legislative process is not entirely complete, the author predicts that a House-Senate compromise will soon be reached and that a law protecting the identities of covert US intelligence agents will soon be sent to the President for signature.
