Abstract : This Note describes a prototype management system designed to help logistics managers assess wartime readiness and identify resources and policy changes that could dramatically improve it. The system, known as the Combat Support Capability Management System (CSCMS), would detect situations where theater wartime sortie capability might be jeopardized by spare parts shortages or component repair processes, and would indicate what resources or processes most degrade that capability. In addition to describing the system, this Note includes several examples of its use. (Author)
