Abstract : This guide describes the use and application of the SAS (Stand-Off Attack Simulation) computer model. SAS is an effective survivability and security system design tool which allows an analyst to compare the relative effectiveness of selected survivability and/or security system upgrades to a threat involving the use of stand-off direct or indirect weapon fire. The program evaluates damage to both personnel and material targets. Scenarios which require either fixed (static) or mobile (dynamic) situations, or both may be modeled.
