Abstract : The U. S. Atlantic coast water-level climate, developed for the Wave Information Study (WIS), is comprised of the following products at each of 20 locations along the coast: (a) Trends and variability in mean sea level; (b). Magnitudes of the expected water-level climate via estimated probability density and cumulative distribution functions for astronomical tide, storm surge, and total water level; (c) Duration statistics for both storm surge and water level; and (d) Extremal storm surge information as a result of extratropical storms. The nature of the water-level data, the analysis procedures used, and the interpretation of the results are included. (Author)
