Abstract : CONLAN is a proposed family of standard hardware description languages developed by a six person international working group. It stresses strong typing and formal semantic development so that the results of simulation at different language levels can be formally checked. This project funded a small portion of the CONLAN development including the writing of the CONLAN introduction contained herein. This introduction will be adapted to form the first chapter of the overall CONLAN report to be published by Springer-Verlaag. (Author)
