Abstract : Energy transfer processes in a thermonuclear plasma including Coulombic phenomena, bremsstrahlung, and Compton scatter are critically reviewed. These processes are incorporated in a three temperature, inertially confined fusion computer simulation which uses a one dimensional, spherical, Lagrangian hydrodynamics scheme. The computer code, still in the validation phase, uses separate subroutines to model hydrodynamics, thermonuclear burn, neutron heating, alpha particle heating, and energy transfer processes in CGS units.
