Abstract : Theoretical and experimental studies have been completed on donor-acceptor pair spectra including effects of electron-phonon interaction and on the effects of hydrostatic pressure on the luminescence of point and molecular dopants. The direct effect of pressure on the adiabatic potentials of the dopants and effects of anharmonicity of these potentials are included. Effects on vibronic spectra are determined. The theory of effects of hydrostatic pressure is extended to effects of uniaxial stress, thus unifying theoretical analyses of applied mechanical stress.
