Abstract : A modeling methodology in support of the Shipboard Nuclear Weapons Security program was needed in order to allow a trade-off of various candidate security systems. This document details the factors that lead to the modeling approach currently being used. In addition a brief description of the models along with examples is presented. The models were chosen for their ability to analyze the spectrum of potential threats pertaining to the operational conditions of a variety of ship classes.
