Abstract : The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility of computing residual displacements in runways and crater repairs under repeated aircraft loadings. This report presents a methodology for computing residual displacements that is economical and easy to use. It also contains a literature review and a presentation of a second procedure to compute residual displacements. Sample calculations were done to illustrate the first procedure and the results compared favorably with previously published test data. The limitations of the second procedure were also discussed.
