Abstract : The Department of Defense (DOD) has developed a program to identify and evaluate past hazardous material disposal sites on DOD property, to control the migration of hazardous contaminants, and to control hazards to health or welfare that may result from these past disposal operations. This program is called the Installation Restoration Program (IRP). The IRP has four phases consisting of: Phase I, Initial Assessment/Records Search; Phase II, Confirmation; Phase III, Technology Base Development; and Phase IV, Operations. The following conclusions have been developed based on the results of the project team's field inspection, review of base records and files and interviews with base personnel. The areas determined to have a high potential for environmental contamination are as follows: (1) Leakage from the Fuel Hydrant System at the TAC Aircraft parking Apron; and (2) Tank Farm Fuel Spill. The areas determined to have a moderate potential for environmental contamination migration are as follows: (1) Landfill No. 4; and (2) Fire Protection Training Area No. 3.
