Abstract : This study compares the average leadership style (ALS) with the vertical dyad linkage (VDL) model by partitioning subordinate perceptions of leadership style into between groups and within-group sources of variance. The results indicate that ALS and VDL models account for similar proportions of variance in subordinate role perceptions, satisfaction, and organizational commitment. (Author)
