Abstract : This report presents the results of a study which assessed the effects of Federal environmental laws and regulations on Army unit training. A survey/questionnaire was prepared and distributed to all Forces Command (FORSCOM) installation environmental coordinators and Division/Separate Brigade-level training officers. Two installations were visited to obtain a more detailed evaluation. The surveys and visits showed that only minimal training capabilities were lost due to compliance with environmental regulations. Most potential problems can be avoided through coordinated planning during the earliest stage of facility development. (Author)
