Abstract : This report was prepared to describe the wind and wave conditions that can be expected in U.S. Coast Guard geographical operating areas. The intent is to provide operational program managers a tool to use when considering the potential applications of conventional and advanced marine vehicles (AMVs) to Coast Guard missions. It is also intended to supplement research determining the feasibility of alternate energy sources that involve wind or waves. This work was performed by the National Climatic Data Center under the direction of the U.S. Guard Research and Development Center for the Office of Research and Development.
