Abstract : The author focuses on the relationship of the Congress and the Army. Reference is made to all military services and the way they do business with the Congress. An in-depth look is taken at the period 1969 to the present in order to gain some appreciation of congressional attitudes toward the Defense Establishment and the Army. The organization of Congress and congressional staffs is considered to bring out specific points concerning daily contact with members of Congress and their staff. Finally, the author suggests ways to improve our working relations with Congress.
