Abstract : This research is directed toward providing diagnostic tools with which to identify and quantify the presence of fragment species and their energy states resulting from molecular destruction processes. Ab initio methods were used to calculate potential energy curves and transition moments for excited Sigma + and 1 Pi states of CO. Vibration rotation transition probabilities for vibrationally hot CN have been obtained. Work is commencing on the excited electronic states of NH.
