Abstract : The purpose of this memorandum is to document the results of an assessment of the potential use of infrared (IR) thermography to measure the temperature of discrete electronic components operating in a vacuum. The assessment specifically considered the cesium beam frequency standards (modules) being developed by Frequency Electronics, Inc. (FEI), Frequency Time Systems, Inc. (FTS) and Kernco, Inc., for use in a spacecraft environment. This memorandum completes the requirements of data item A003 under the subject contract.
