Abstract : Effects of information load on satisfaction as modified by type A vs. Type B and by Cognitive Complexity were investigated. Satisfaction decreased with increasing task difficulty (load) but was particularly low for persons of Type A and cognitive simple styles. Similar results were obtained for a measure of Enjoyment Despite Dissatisfaction which accounted for motivation in the face of challenge. Relationships between job and task satisfaction are considered. (Author)
