Abstract : The ultimate objective of this work is to establish reliable finite element procedures for predicting the effect of structural damage, for example due to a shock wave, on the collapse strength of submarine hulls. However, it is first necessary to demonstrate the validity of finite element calculations for undamaged structures. Unfortunately, the open literature provides little information on finite element code validation for buckling of stiffened structures. (Author)
