Abstract : Further studies were undertaken to test the feasibility of using metal films deposited by electroless or chemical means for use in dentistry. The areas covered during this year of research were: evaluation of different mordants and wetting agents as substitutes for the etching step, study of parameters affecting adherence between substrate and amalgam, modifications of drying conditions during plating, and optimization of amalgams.
