Abstract : The production phase of DOD's weapon system acquisition process provides an area for possible cost-cutting. Within the production phase, large titanium forging lead times showed a negligible relationship to engine prices. Methods used to evaluate data were primarily descriptive statistics; advanced linear regression techniques were not possible for the limited data available. Recommendations for future research efforts to clarify the research results are included.
