Abstract : The existing facilities used by Deputy for Engineering (EN) have serious deficiencies which impede his ability to meet mission requirements. The dispersion of EN facilities is the most serious problem. It not only reduces the productivity of EN personnel, but limits the critical tasks of systems integration engineering. Correction of the deficiencies requires construction of a consolidated facility to house all EN personnel and equipment. The most cost-effective option is to construct a 190,000 square foot addition to Building 485. At a cost of about $18 million (in FY85 dollars) this facility would provide for consolidation of all EN functions and offer enhanced mission capability for systems integration testing and evaluation.
