Abstract : Photophysical properties of coumarin laser dyes solubilized in aqueous detergent or cyclodextrin solutions have been investigated. Dyes appear to be incorporated in hydrated (hydrogen bonded) sites within detergent micelles. Photodegradation is inhibited for detergent solubilized dye. Electron transfer photochemistry is examined by flash photolysis.
