Abstract : In this thesis, mathematical models are established for the development of oxygen toxicity in divers. The study endeavors to derive the shape of the oxygen tolerance curve in terms of depth-time limitations by statistical analysis of existing data. By assuming a known distribution for the time-to-serious-symptom, mathematically predictive models are developed which allow a greater degree of predictability in mission profiles and allow the associated risk to divers to be evaluated.
