Abstract : This research has been motivated by the research in the area of pattern recognition by Dr. Matthew Kabrisky. A highly efficient character recognition scheme which utilized a three-dimensional phasor representation of the spatial frequency content of an input was developed and used for pattern identification. This report contains the theory and results of this research, and recommends several areas on which future research should be based.
