Abstract : A multiprogramming operating system, designated AFIT Multiprogramming Operating System (AMOS), for the AFIT Digital Engineering Laboratory was designed at the detailed level and fully implemented, except for the assembly language routines. The requirements were developed in the works of Yusko, Ross, and Huneycutt. This thesis effort was done in conjunction with the effort of Lt. Ronald K. Miller. This effort covers the detailed design and implementation of the overall system and, also, covers the detailed design and implementation of the operating system scheduler. (Author)
