Abstract : This paper addresses the problem that there is no standardized, existing system for measuring sustainability within the armed services nor between each service and the OSD. A system is required which will aggregate the service assessments of sustainability into one OSD sustainability assessment which can be understood OSD-side and which allows meaningful decision making about resource allocation to occur. Also, there is great need but no systematic way to relate sustainability deficiencies and the POM entries which are designed to address the shortfalls.
