Abstract : The program was conducted to demonstrate physiological acceptability of the Martin-Baker SJU-5/A (modified) Escape System planned for installation in the Navy's F-18 aircraft. Twenty ejection tests were run on the Naval Air Development Center Ejection Tower Facility using both anthropomorphic dummies and human volunteer test subjects. As a result of this program the seat was found to be physiologically acceptable.
