Abstract : Changes in rhesus spectral and white light acuity following brief (100 msec) laser (647 nm) exposure have been measured. Permanent loss in spectral acuity occurred at an exposure level where white light acuity was still recoverable. These data suggest that postexposure spectral acuity functions reflect altered foveal function rather than total foveal disruption. (Author)
