Abstract : This document discussed global existence and decay of classical solutions to the equations of motion for a class of nonlinear materials with fading memory. The existence theorem presented here is an improved version of a previous result of the author. This paper corresponds to a talk given at the Conference on Physical Mathematics and Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations held at West Virginia University during July 1983. (Author)
