Abstract : This report discusses advances in the mathematical theory behind Hardy's multiquadric method, development of methods for surfaces with tension parameters or which satisfy constraints, and methods for least squares approximation and subset selection. This report was prepared for the proceedings of The International Workshop on Multivariate Approximation, in December 1986.
