Abstract : This report describes the computer code FRAM. The code computes the pressure and velocity in a fluid-half space where bulk cavitation may occur. The cavitation results from an exponentially decaying pressure wave from an underwater explosion which travels to the surface and is reflected as a tension wave. Because the water does not sustain tension, a cavitated region is formed. The cavity subsequently closes under gravity (lower closing shock) and accretion of vapor particles (upper closing shock). The theory is summarized herein. Capabilities and limitations are discussed and a description of the source code is included.
