Abstract : The requirement to develop a space based remote ocean sensing platform exists within the Department of the Navy. This project models a satellite subsystem with structural flexibility utilizing the Equivalent Rigid Link System (ERLS). Dynamic analysis with computer simulation is presented for a simple flexible boom rotating in three dimensions with and without a point mass at the boom tip.
