Abstract : A three phase program was undertaken to evaluate the current domestic production of naphthene rich turbine fuels. The first phase was a refinery survey to determine the magnitude of this production and its quality. Hydrocracker effluents are the chief source of these streams, and their turbine fuel cut is approximately 500,000 barrels per day. Samples were obtained from 20 domestic refiners and characterized for their naphthene and sulfur contents.
