Abstract : This technical guide presents current guidance for the preparation, administration, and disposal of cytotoxic drugs (CDs). Some antineoplastic (anticancer) drugs used in cancer chemotherapy are also cytotoxic. Because they are toxic to living cells, health care workers may be exposed to significant health hazards during the preparation and handling of these drugs. Appendix C lists many antineoplastic agents currently in use.
