Abstract : In this thesis we derive a lattice structure to realize linear phase transfer functions and develop an adaptive algorithm for continuously updating the lattice reflection coefficients. The lattice structure is considered because of its superior finite wordlength performance compared to transversal structures The adaptive lattice algorithm developed in this thesis has been applied to estimate the sinusoidal frequencies as part of Prony's method. Results of computer simulation supporting the theory are reported.
